FOUND! A missing Caravaggio!

In 2014, a long lost painting by Caravaggio, the infamous Baroque artist, was found in an attic in France by a familly who was just simply cleaning out storage! It is crazy to think that such an incredibly important piece of art was found in such a simple place. Imagine being the family who found it! That would just be insane.

Here is an article I read about it. When I clicked on the link and saw the painting, I immediaetly recognized it. It is a second version of his painting titled Judith Beheading Holofernes. I will attach both the article and picture of the two different versions. The article is definetly worth the read as this story is pretty magical.

This is the original piece, or the first one that was discovered. Caravaggio created this in 1600 and it now hangs in the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Antica in Rome.
This was the one most recently found in 2014. An unknown buyer has purchased it and the whereabouts as to where the painting is headed is unknown at the moment.
